This is a very interesting, well written, and enjoyable true story of a Real Hero!
by Donny Bassett
Don Mann gives an in depth first- hand account of what it takes not only to be a SEAL but to be in the even more ‘exclusive club’ SEAL Team Six. Don himself is not only an American hero but also a world class athlete. From the explanation of the Somalia beach recon/demo op to the ‘Goat Lab’ chapter, till the very end of this book Don captivates your attention in an unprecedented way. The amount of information that needs to be retained and at the same time remaining in peak physical and mental condition is what sets these warriors in ‘the teams’ apart. This amazing personal account tells the balancing of having to deal with family problems and keeping focus to counter terror facing our nation. To get a look at what its like to be the best of the best pick up and read Inside SEAL Team Six. This is a very interesting, well written, and enjoyable true story of a Real Hero!
Special men
by Edouard M. Ponist
SEALS are special people.
Goat lab would have made me drop out. No questions. Not that SEALS don’t have feelings- the author himself stated his in that chapter. They have very deep feelings-yet, they somehow rise above understanding that the training is for the good of many and that among many other factors makes them a totally special breed of warrior. (re-Reading that chapter which I skipped because it was disturbing revealed that Goat Lab was not mandatory training for the author. Its existence I hope is no longer.)
Inside Seal Team Six gives a glimpse of a shadow warrior world. I want to thank all these shadow warriors for the sacrifices they have made for the defense of the USA.
I wish that in the future censorship bars will not be used because I think it takes away from the story-I do understand the need for secrecy however that’s what foot notes are for and a glossary as well.
Such a book is important and enforces the need for a strong defense. Anything less is unacceptable.
Inspiring!

This book would have been interesting even without the ST-6 story. Don’s personal life is full of soaring heights and tragic depths. This, combined with his SEAL career and outdoor adventures, makes for a wildly inspiring and humbling book that leaves me full of admiration for this man.
Lastly, as an outdoor enthusiast and adventure seeker, this book left me inspired by the will and perseverance of Don Mann. I will always push myself harder having read this.
A must read for anyone who claims to love their country!
by CPT Thomas Flickinger, Adjutant General Corps, US Army
ST6 is a must read for anyone who claims to love their country! And for the ambivalent at heart this book just might change your mind. Make no mistake, America has enemies and they are out to hurt us and pose a constant threat to this great nation.
Don Mann is the SEAL who trained SEALS to do what they do best…take out bad guys! We are so fortunate to still have some o the best and the brightest volunteers to serve America. Don Mann is one of these people! His sacrifice and commitment to the greater good is at times unfathomable. Thank God for the SEALS! ST6 will make you angry, make you laugh, and will make you cry.
This is a book that reminds us all of the incredible goo that lies within us if we are willing to work to find it. Heroes take that inner character and use it for the good of those around them without regard for themselves. Their sacrifices are boundless and their love of country so much that they are willing to pay the greatest price. ST6 is a book you won’t want to put down and answers so many of the questions about this special breed of man called “SEAL”
Hats off to Don Mann for this honest, no BS look at himself and his SEAL teammates.
An encouragement for me in the Christian faith.
by Arthur Taylor Falch
I just finished reading Don Mann’s fascinating book Inside SEAL Team SIX. It was an encouragement for me in the Christian faith. I shed a few tears. I also just saw the movie Act of Valor yesterday and am praying for members of the US Navy SEAL team.
God bless you.
Reads like a novel, but tells a true story full of adrenalin-soaked adventures.
by Eric Hupscher, the Netherlands
Inside SEAL Team Six is a very well written book. From a kid who’s life nearly took wrong paths, to the honest SEAL-operator who was also a medic. Reads like a novel, but tells a true story full of adrenalin-soaked adventures.
Some parts are blacked-out by the US government because it was still too classified… What a pity.
So far I’ve read a number more books about the Special Forces, including Delta-Force, but nothing seems to beat the versatile Navy SEALs, with Inside SEAL Team SIX on top!
I am currently ordering all Don Mann’s works, including; The Navy SEAL Survival Handbook, The Modern Day Gunslinger, and Hunt the Wolf: I can hardly wait.
Thank you for sharing your story – I am inspired to work harder and be better because of it.

I just finished “Inside Seal Team Six”. I have the audio book which I listened to each morning as I get my bike riding in before work. Don Mann and Ralph Pezzullo did an amazing job telling Don’s story!
I went from being awed by the level of commitment Don applied to all facets of his life (including his escapades during his youth) to sobered by the level of sacrifice made by each Team guy, to laughing out loud (you should have seen some of the stares I got when this silent women riding by them burst into a belly laugh) to sobbing as I listened to Don’s words as his wife whispered to Christian or heard about the death of his amazing mother.
Thank you for sharing your story – I am inspired to work harder and be better because of it. I will be listening again (one time thru a good book is never enough to get the full story). God Bless.
LOVE Inside Seal Team Six.

WOW! What a story! What an incredible life!
Don Mann’s personal account of his stellar career with the Navy SEALs is engaging, entertaining, and at times, a heart-wrenching read. Mann provides an insider’s account of what it means to be and serve as a Navy SEAL. As one reviewer said of the book, “There is something for everyone.”
After the assassination of Osama bin Laden and the Seal Team Six that brought him down, I became curious and wanted to know more about the Navy SEALs. A few days ago I was browsing over new books in our local bookstore and saw Inside Seal Team Six. I read the inside covers and was hooked and finished the book in two days. Not only is Mann’s story inspirational, informative, and colorful but it is also a story of the human experience with all its vulnerability and challenges that carved and molded the man he became and who is still becoming. He explains, “I also have the well of energy I had as a youngster still burning inside me, urging me to accomplish more and set new goals for myself. There are so many exciting things I still want to accomplish in this life while I still have time,”(274).
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a vibrant and engaging narrative about the life of a Navy SEAL. Thank God we have Don Mann and the individuals like him who love the United States enough to defend, protect, and sacrifice their lives so that we continue to have the freedoms we enjoy.
Snapshot of the SEAL Teams
by Chris B.
Recently finished Inside SEAL Team SIX and l really like the personal touch Don puts on it. Many SF or IC books read like school text books or have tons of junk filler. This book really captures a snap shot of the teams as well as Don’s life…. One might think that any recently released ST-6 book would just want to cash in on the public interest, but this is better than any other i have read in a long time. Some of my favorite reading was about his early motocross and athletic endeavors which helped understand Don’s mindset prior to joining the Navy.
While competing in a recent ultra marathon across the Atacama desert I constantly thought to myself “would Don quit now?” Needless to say I finished!
Inside SEAL Team 6 was sensational
by Bipin B.
Today (June 12th 2012) I just finished reading “Inside Seal Team 6″ it was sensational. Thanks.. thanks for sharing your life story. I really admired and appreciate your spirit, courage and self determination to venture beyond the limits presented by both natural and social environment and to leap across all the odds. You are a true Iron Man to me.
You mentioned you’re ”having a blast” and I hope that continues till the end. Your life stories and adventures have given me some jolt of inspiration and that is all good by itself. About myself, I am a guy from Nepal living in Woburn, Ma, with my family: a small time adventurist . Btw, its good to know that you had been in my part of the world and I sincerely hope “one day before the real depature” you’ll conquire all 7 peaks!
